Hello everyone. My name is GONG Qian and I'm a student in ISPA's FLE program.
Last December, I decided to take the DELF B2 exam. In January, I registered for the February session in Lille. You have to register one month before the exam. Once you've sent in the registration form with your cheque, you'll receive an invitation letter a week later.
The exam consists of written and oral tests, spread over two days. The tests consist of: oral comprehension, oral production, written comprehension and written production. The total exam time is approximately 3 hours. Each part is marked out of 25 points, giving a total mark of 100 points. 50/100 is the pass mark for the diploma, but the minimum mark required for each test is 5/25. According to the presentation of the DELF B2 test, candidates must acquire a degree of independence that enables them to argue in defense of their opinion, develop their point of view and negotiate. In other words, they must be able to speak naturally, fluently and effectively, to understand in detail what is said in a standard language, and to take the initiative when speaking.
For listening and reading comprehension, the majority of the exercises were open-ended questions. In fact, the listening comprehension questions are a little long, and there isn't enough time to read each question before the test starts, so you have to listen carefully. Because of the difficulty of oral comprehension, written comprehension is the easiest part of the exam. For the written production test, you had to write a letter of complaint, in French letter form.
What's more, all the teachers have told me that oral production is easy to earn points for. He has a total of 50 minutes: 30 minutes preparation, 10 minutes monologue and 10 minutes debate. There are two examiners for one candidate.
First, after entering the room, we have to give our convocation and photo ID to an examiner. Then they tell us that we can choose two documents from the twelve on offer, but without reading them. In general, these documents are short texts of around ten lines. Finally, we read the two texts for thirty seconds, then choose one as our subject. During the preparation phase, we need to define the problematic of the text and organize our ideas, then we need to construct a presentation plan, articulating speeches through introduction, development, conclusion and transitions.
During the presentation, we need to pay attention to our rhythm, intonation and articulation, and use a bit of body language. For the debate, you need to defend your opinion, expand and develop your ideas are the most important points.
Anyway, I hope everyone will work well and be satisfied with their result !
