Take the DELF exam in Amiens with ISPA

The Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française (DELF) for adults is an official diploma issued by the French Ministry of Education. It is recognized worldwide and valid for life.
The DELF is made up of 4 compulsory tests, each of which is marked out of 25 points. To obtain the diploma, you need to score at least 50 points out of 100, and at least 5 points out of 25 per test.

How do you choose the right DELF for your level?

DELF is divided into four levels (A1, A2, B1, B2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Each level assesses your language skills through written and oral tests.
What's it all about?

This DELF level assesses basic French skills.

You choose to take the DELF A1 if you can :

  • Introduce yourself and someone else;
  • Understand simple spoken announcements and instructions;
  • Understand short, simple texts;
  • Fill in a form with your name, nationality, address, etc. ;
  • Write a short, simple postcard;
  • Answer simple questions about yourself (e.g. name, nationality, activities);
  • Ask someone simple questions;
  • Buy something and pay for it.

Reading comprehension: 4 exercises - 30 minutes (Reading documents and answering questions)
Written production: 2 exercises - 30 minutes (Fill in a form and write a message of at least 40 words)
What's it all about?

This level assesses your ability to use French in simple everyday situations.

You choose to take the DELF A2 if you can :

  • Carry out simple everyday tasks (going to a shop, asking for information, taking public transport, etc.);
  • Use the most common forms of politeness and exchange;
  • Recounting a past event ;
  • Understand a simple conversation ;
  • Talk about your tastes and explain why you like or dislike something;
  • Describe your daily life and your surroundings (hobbies, work, friends, family);
  • Understand and reply to a personal letter (inviting, thanking, apologizing);
  • Understand directions to help you find your way;
  • Link sentences with little words like: "and", "but", "because".

What's it all about?

This level assesses your ability to communicate easily with and understand French speakers.

You choose to take the DELF B1 if you can :

  • Recount an event, an experience, a dream ;
  • Describe a hope, a goal, a project ;
  • Give your opinion and justify it with arguments ;
  • Expressing feelings ;
  • Express your agreement or disagreement and explain why;
  • Understand important news items (newspaper articles, TV news, radio programs);
  • Make proposals, hypotheses, give advice;
  • Convincing someone ;
  • Coping with unexpected situations in everyday life and when travelling in a country where the target language is spoken;
  • Organize a presentation or speech in a logical order.

Listening comprehension: 3 exercises - 25 minutes (Listen to documents and answer questions) Oral production: 3 parts (Guided interview / Exchange of information / Simulated dialogue) - 15 minutes with 10 minutes' preparation
Reading comprehension: 2 exercises - 45 minutes (Reading documents and answering questions)
Written production: 1 exercise - 45 minutes (Write 1 text of at least 160 words.)
What's it all about?

This level assesses your ability to understand and argue complex issues in French.

You choose to take the DELF B2 if you can :

  • Defend your opinion with arguments and examples;
  • Develop your point of view and talk about the advantages and disadvantages ;
  • Expressing cause and consequence ;
  • Convincing someone ;
  • Correct yourself when you make a mistake;
  • Taking notes ;
  • Reformulate an idea and explain what is implicit;
  • Understand the gist of a news document.

How much does the exam cost?

Fees for DELF exams at our center vary according to the level you wish to assess. The full fee is payable when you submit your registration form. You can pay in cash (by appointment), by check or by bank transfer (on request).

How do I register?

Taking the DELF at ISPA: 3 ways to register

Online registration
  1. Download, complete and sign the >registration form for DELF
  2. Envoyez-le formulaire complété et une copie de votre pièce d’identité (passeport / titre de séjour) à l’adresse e-mail examens@ispa-langues.com
  3. You will receive an e-mail with payment information based on your DELF level.
  4. Make your payment on time and receive an e-mail confirming your registration.

If you register online, you must bring 2 large stamped A4 envelopes (Lettre suivie -100g) with you on the day of the exam. Without the two envelopes, you will need to collect the certificate of achievement and diploma from our premises.

Registration by post
  1. Download and print the registration form for DELF
  2. Fill in and sign the registration form
  3. Send the completed form, a copy of your ID (passport/residence permit), a cheque for the amount of your registration fee according to the DELF level you wish to achieve and 2 large stamped A4 envelopes (Lettre suivie -100g) by registered mail to the address :

ISPA registration

Go to the reception desk on one of our campuses with a copy of your ID (passport / residence permit), the registration fee in cash or by cheque and 2 large stamped A4 envelopes (Lettre suivie -100g).

How do I register?

How does DELF work?

Once you have registered, you will receive your test invitation by email at least one week before the exam. Dates and times are final and cannot be changed.

The DELF exam takes place on our premises in Amiens over three consecutive days. The group exams take place on one half-day, and the individual exam on a second half-day. Candidates must be available on all 3 days of the exam session.

To gain access to the examination room, you must arrive at the institute 30 minutes before the start of the tests with your original valid photo ID and signature.

Our tips for the big day

  • Punctuality: It's essential to arrive on time, but there's no need to show up early.
  • Essential documents: Don't forget your ID and your invitation to the examination room.
  • Equipment: Bring a pen to write your proofs in the best conditions.
